Kansas Senate District 35

Senator Emler represents Senate District 35.

Located in central Kansas, the District 35 includes the counties of Ellsworth, Lincoln, McPherson and Rice in addition to portions of Barton, Dickinson, Marion and Morris counties.

The Kansas Senate is comprised of a total of 40 districts. Each district is made up a geographic area that includes about 70,000 Kansans. Every 10 years, when the U.S. Census completes its findings, the lines for Kansas Senate districts are redrawn as necessary to reflect population losses or increases in each respective district. This process is known as redistricting or reapportionment. The last redistricting for Kansas occurred in 2002 and the next redistricting will occur in 2012.
